Part II The Unlearning What began as an innocent dip of my toes into what my dad likes to call the “boat life”, became a complete lifestyle transformation. I lived in rolled up jeans and bare feet, showering became a … Continue reading →
I am thankful for creativity. Creativity is an explosion of the soul and human emotion that gives birth to many magnificent things. Creativity is limitless and unique, making the world so full of beauty.
I am thankful for variety. I love having the choice. It is wonderful that I don’t have to eat the same, dress the same, or decorate my house the same day after day. Being able to change things up when you want to is awesome and it definitely makes life a lot more adventurous and opens us up to creativity.
I am thankful for my eyes. I can’t imagine not being able to see all of this world’s beauty. Sight is such a gift though is does come with its downsides, such as judgement. However, there is nothing like seeing the rain in a downpour or watching the leaves rustle in the trees on a sunny day. There is just so much beauty in the world.
You spend half your life sleeping and that is why I am so thankful for my bed. I actually spend so much time in it. Especially during this long winter. Being cozy and comfy is one of the most important things to me.
I am thankful for my right to an education. It’s often easy to forget that in some other parts of the world there are a lot of people who aren’t able to go to school. There are so many things, like education, that many of us take for granted each and every day. We often forget that there are people out there who would give anything to have the opportunities that we do.
So the other day, as I was scrolling through my Facebook feed, something caught my eye. It was a link to a video that said “You Take Zillions of Photos With Your Cellphone … Why Not Try Something New With Them?” (http://www.upworthy.com/you-take-zillions-of-photos-with-your-cellphone-why-not-try-something-new-with-them?g=2&c=ufb1). Intrigued, I clicked on it. After watching the video I thought about what an amazing idea this was and decided that it would be an amazing experience for me. I have decided to post something on my blog every day for a year of what I am thankful for. So without further ado, let’s begin 🙂
I'm a woman in my 40's and finally feeling that I know who I am and why I am, I would like to share the shadows from my life. Having got here fairly intact and along the way found the ability to take a step back and see things more clearly it is my hope that perhaps by blogging I may help others through their own dark places.
